The DAKAR, our best laboratory to demonstrate the technical reliability and precision of PROTO&GO! prototypes
The Dakar 2021 has this year a new Spanish team; RIEJU. And from PROTO&GO! in addition to offering our prototyping services for their new designs and re-designs, this year, we want to support the team in their debut in the Dakar 2021 rally being one of the official sponsors of one of the most rigorous events in the world that has been held for the second consecutive year in Saudi Arabia.
Of all the sectors to which we provide services, the automotive industry is one of the most demanding due to the difficulty and resistance that each of the parts must have, particularly those using the CNC machining technique.
Among the 321 vehicles registered, the Spanish motorcycle team RIEJU has made its debut in the elite category of the Dakar Rally 2021 with its official riders, Joan Pedrero and Oriol Mena. Marc Calmet has also participated in the same team, this one in the Rookie and Marathon category.
Rieju has trusted us to manufacture many of its parts for motorcycles and other vehicles, and now it has also done so for the Rieju team vehicles, which have helped its riders to enjoy a unique experience. In addition to providing our support to the whole team before, during and after the hard competition.
“PROTO&GO! which has participated in several motorcycle competitions throughout its short history, will once again put its excellent prototyping and parts machining service to the test, turning the Spanish team’s first participation in the DAKAR into its best laboratory to demonstrate the technical reliability and precision of its products.”

The event consisted of 12 stages, with a rest day at the halfway point. The route of the 2021 edition had an approximate length of 7,646 km, including 4,767 km of timed special stages.
This edition has focused on discovering new territories, with a route totally unprecedented in previous editions and, in turn, slower and more varied. The rally started in the second largest city of Saudi Arabia, Jeddah, passing through other locations such as Bisha, Wadi al Dawasir, Buraydah, Ha’il, Sakaka, Neom, AlUla, Yanbu and the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, ending in Jeddah, the starting point of the Dakar 2021.
Most of the vehicles that took part in the race, including those of the RIEJU team, arrived between December 1 and 3 at the port of Marseille, from where they set off for Jeddah.
Our pilots were training non-stop to arrive at the rally well prepared and give their all. At the end of December, they headed to the Middle East to train on the terrain where the Dakar 2021 took place and where they were reunited with their motorcycles.
