Everything you need to know about PROTO&GO!

General issues

Do you have any questions about us or the system?

Especially the user-friendly platform, the short lead time, the cost savings and the security of “on time” delivery.

We have extremely simplified the communication required when manufacturing parts and prototypes.

We save you a lot of emails, phone calls, problems with files, versions, materials, drawings, misinterpretations etc. ….

Simply upload your files, select the material to be manufactured and place your order online. After that, you just have to wait a few days for a packet from us.

Engineers, designers, universities, creative studios, innovation teams, R&D centres, maintenance departments, start-ups and soon yourself!

We make product development more efficient by providing access to tools required for cost- and time-optimised manufacturing.

Proto&Go! has its own machinery and resources to manufacture your orders. However, due to our exponential growth, we also work with external partners who are specialised in different manufacturing processes.

Nevertheless, Proto&Go! quality standards that extend to the network of cooperating manufacturers, so we can guarantee that your parts will meet and probably exceed your requirements.

We currently use two types of technology for the manufacture of parts and prototypes.

  • Our offices are located in Montcada i Reixac, in an industrial area about 10 km outside of Barcelona, we also have different production centres.

If you do not have a 3D file stp, .step, .sldprt, .x_t, .x_b, .ipt, .catpart, .prt, .sat, .3dm we can neither manufacture the parts nor make a quotation, as our software requires this type of file.

Nevertheless, we have many friends who are engineers and designers. Contact us and we can get in touch with professionals who can help you.

Confidentiality is a very important factor in our business and we are taking it very seriously.

We promise that your files will only fall into the hands of those who are essential for the production of your parts.

Both our employees and our cooperation partners have signed documents guaranteeing the confidentiality of protected information.

We are also willing to sign a special document on data protection, if required.

There are doubts about some of our team members, but in general you can say: yes, we are human beings and we are here to help you.

Furthermore, we have invested thousands of code lines in the development of our own software to make our production and logistics process faster and more efficient in order to provide a better service.

Now, we know each other a little better, you know that we are a perfect choice to manufacture your parts and prototypes, both CNC machining and manufactured using vacuum casting. We invite you to use our online form and ask for your quotation;

Quotation process

Do you have any issues when requesting a quotation?

In order to request a quotation, all you need is a company e-mail where you would like to receive the quotation and a 3D file (step, stp, igs, iges format).) You also need to select the material in which you would like to manufacture your parts among all the materials available in our Request for Quotation form.

Our platform is optimised for the latest versions of the main browsers (Firefox, Edge and Chrome).

We recommend you use one of these browsers and make sure you do not use Internet Explorer as it is too obsolete.

To use our system, a 3D file in one of the accepted formats (step, stp, igs, iges) is required.

Our system does not work with 2D files of any type. The 2D files we request are only required to define the characteristics of the threads, if the part contains any.

STL or OBJ files are mainly used for 3D printing. CNC machining machines do not identify this file type and therefore our system cannot provide quotations from this file type.

We recommend that you use the native file with the software you have used for the design and make an export to STP.

That file will most likely contain more than one part. Our machines manufacture the parts one by one and therefore require that each file contains only one part. Make sure that it does not contain several parts of an assembly, screws, commercial elements,…

Depending on which native software you are exporting from to neutral formats (.stp,…), the resulting file may contain errors. This often happens with very creative oriented software but less industrial oriented.

Also STP files are more robust than IGS files so we always recommend you to use this format.

Our system can produce from just one unit up to several thousand. When quoting, you can request a price for 3 different quantities and the system will quote you prices for the quantities you need.

In the form of Request for Quotation you can see the list of materials with which we can quote and manufacture your parts.

This is a difficult question, but on a prototyping level:

If you need an economical plastic prototype we recommend using ABS-Natural.

If you need an economical metal prototype we recommend you to use Aluminium No Alloy Specified.

To clarify some basic characteristics of each material you can see the detail of the materials in the following link: Materials

If the material you need is not in our form, we will probably not be able to attend your request. Nevertheless, we recommend that you select any other material but indicate what material you need in the Remarks field next to each part and our technicians will check the possibility of manufacturing your parts with that kind of material.

Prices do not include VAT. If you wish to know the price with VAT, you can add the pieces to the shopping cart, where the detailed VAT will appear. VAT will only be applied to Spanish companies.

No, not at all. Our customers have already discovered that they can save all that time.

We may only need a drawing if your part contains threads, inserts, specific tolerances, or something specific to the geometry otherwise forget about drawings!

Ordering process

Do you have any issues when making an order?

When you made your quotation request we sent you an email with a Username and Password. You must log in with that username and password in My Account. Once logged in, in the main menu you will be able to see your current and past quotations, your orders, shipping details, invoicing, etc…

Once the order has been placed , you can call us within 24 hours to tell us that you require a modification and we will try to make it. After that time, you will no longer be able to modify it, since the production process will have started.

We make equipment development more efficient, providing access to the necessary tools to manufacture in the most optimal way, in terms of cost and time.

To do so, log in to My Account, select the parts you are interested in and add them to the Cart by selecting the quantity of each one.

Once in the cart you can obtain a paper copy of the offer by clicking on “Print quotation”.

  • Payment by bank transfer
  • Payment by credit card
  • Payment by Paypal
  • 30-day deferred payment (conditions must be met)

This option is available to customers who request it and who meet the following contract conditions:

  • The customer must have previously placed orders for a value of €3,000 or more in the last 12 months.
  • The report resulting from the risk study, carried out by an external credit guarantee security agent, must show a positive result and the amount of credit that can be guaranteed must be higher than all the orders that can be placed during a full period of postponement.

First of all with a lot of love but going into detail, the pieces, except for very small sizes, are individually bagged and packaged, adding an identification label for each piece, referencing the tracking: order number, name of the file, material, quantity, etc…

Anti-shock packaging material is always used to avoid shocks or scratches during transport.

If the delivery address is local, in Spain, the shipment will be made by the courier company Nacex.

For deliveries to any other part of the world, the delivery will be made by DHL.

Yes, the minimum order is 60€.

You can also place an order for a lower amount, in this case the difference up to 60€ will be charged.

Also, regardless of how simple a part may be, the minimum manufacturing cost of any part is 46€ for CNC Machining and 9€ for 3D Printing.

Shipping costs for Spain are 9€ with delivery service in 24 hours before 19 hours.

For purchases over 250€ the shipping costs are free of charge.

The shipping costs for the European Union are 15€ 15€ with delivery service within 24 hours (in some remote places 48h). For purchases over 150€ the shipping costs are free of charge.

Shipping costs for any other country outside the EU are €45 with express delivery service (48/72 hours). For purchases over 250€ the shipping costs are free of charge.

Once you have placed your order, you can call us within 24 hours to tell us that you would like to cancel your order and we will try to do so. After that time, you will no longer be able to cancel your order as the production process has already started.

If the package arrives with signs of transport related damage or deterioration, you must contact our Customer Service Department and report the damage.

All obvious damage must be reported on the carrier’s delivery note.

Although we try our best to ensure that this never happens, we are human and we can make mistakes. If this happens, we will ask you to notify us by email within 48 hours of receiving your order, notifying us of the non-conformity and the reason for it.

We will ask you to repack the parts and leave them ready for collection by our transport.

Once we have been able to analyse the non-conformity we will offer you to correct the error if possible or to reprocess the order completely.

The return and reprocessing of an order due to non-conformity does not entail any cost for the customer.
